taxman   12 #1 Posted January 14, 2012 (edited) I can't believe I've lived in Sheffield for over 20 years yet haven't been to Vito's until tonight.  Best Italian I've ever been to in Sheffield. Lovely homely atmosphere, no rush, no hassle and a wonderful menu full of stuff you don't get at the usual Italian restaurants.  The specials board was a treat, especially if you are a fish fan.  It's not the cheapest Italian restaurant, but that's because it's really a cut above most others. whiteroses   10 #2 Posted January 15, 2012 Vito's is incredible. I love it. Brilliant food, varied menu (lard on toast, anyone?!) and a really friendly, homely atmosphere.
 Share this content via...
Amaranthus   10 #3 Posted January 15, 2012 If you go on a Sunday evening when it's quiet, Vito will always come over for a little chat.
 Share this content via...
SevenRivers   10 #4 Posted November 5, 2013 I went to Vito's for first time tonight, what a great place with such friendly staff. The Fileto Toscano was possibly the best fillet steak I've ever tried. Will definitely go again.
 Share this content via...

taxman   12 #6 Posted November 6, 2013 I went to Vito's for first time tonight, what a great place with such friendly staff. The Fileto Toscano was possibly the best fillet steak I've ever tried. Will definitely go again.  I went again last week and had pecorino and truffle fondue to start followed by the wild boar. Vito also chatted to us about his appearance in Peaky Blinders.  We do tend to go there just for special occasions and usually splash out a bit on whatever specials he has on which means it can be an expensive night but we think it's worth it. taxman   12 #8 Posted October 4, 2014 Looking forward to going this Tuesday. He's hosting a special traditional Italian evening serving a set menu of 5 courses for £32.50 including a glass of Prosecco on arrival.  Can't wait to see what's on the menu. taxman   12 #12 Posted October 8, 2014 Went for the special traditional evening last night. A glass of prosecco to kick things off, then brushetta, then a starter of tomatoes and mozzerella with a selection of meats, then a pasta dish of pappardelle formed into rings filled with mince, then sea bass topped with mashed potato and mixed veg then a trio of desserts. We passed on coffee.  To be honest we were full after the pasta but battled manfully on and we got the leftover veggies in a doggy bag to bring home.  We spent a bit more on wine than we normally do but we don't mind once in a while.  I'd highly recommend next time he has a traditional evening.
