David Penk, insurance brokers in Chesterfield seems to specialise in Taxi insurance these days and usually tries to match any reasonably low quote. The other main agent a popular insurance company is a Mr Lifford representing Westminster Insurance, and he is based at Shaw Motors at bottom of Loxley Road. I don't have telephone numbers for these people but should be easy enough to find in the directory.

Hope that helps

You could give Insurance Factory a go, they specialise in taxi insurance, have done for many years so they tend to be able to provide some good quotes - they can cover fleets too as far as im aware

Wheels insurance brokers at commonside, kilkink have you looked at any block policies? £45 to £60 (over 25) per week depending on your age and taxi company. Downside is you don't get any ncb but can work out alot cheaper for the first few years.

Have you got a radio? If not speak to the taxi company you want to work for before buying your car. The last thing you want is to buy a car and be unable to get a radio as their are alot of new drivers waiting to get on.

PAKS4 is absolutely right when saying to go for weekly renewals. It may suit someone who is unsure how long he wants to be a taxi driver for, who gets some time off (like 2+ consecutive week off)- then weekly taxi insurance is a money saver.

Howeveer for someone who is commited to work a taxi driver more than 2 years, yearly cover is the best option- painfull option to start with (no No Claims Bonus is transfered from Domesitc an Social Policies into Taxi one), but eventually after 2 years you star saving money and have more options to shop arround. I am trying to put all tips and tricks regarding taxi insurance on my website. You may access it via my footer.

dont think there is anywhere realy cheap anymore.

you need to be more focusing on the quality of service, and what you get for your money.

i have just renewed my motor trade policy, but paid a bit more than the cheapest quote i got, to get better quality ins.

its expensive for everybody

i have just had to bend over and take it like a man:hihi:
