Guest makapaka #13 Posted January 15, 2018 Anyone been in since the refurb ? It was shocking before. Shocking interior. Shocking breakfasts. Shocking carvery. Yes it’s not too dissimilar. The area around where the carvery is has been changed round and the seating is more “diner” like there with the pizza oven bit opposite. Rest of it just has a bit of paint. Toilets have been done. Only ever had the carvery there before or after the refurb. Wouldn’t refer to it as shocking - just average food at average prices. Bilge 34 #15 Posted January 16, 2018 If it sold just one decent real ale I would pop in now and again. As it doesn't I won't bother.
 Share this content via...
philyyy 10 #16 Posted January 17, 2018 The carvery was what you'd expect for the price you paid. It was food, it was edible.
 Share this content via...

retrogo 10 #18 Posted January 17, 2018 Any venue that leaves food on a hot plate will be bad. Everything drys and shrivels up. But even served to order food is pre cooked so there's still a chance it will be minging
 Share this content via...
Geo-atkinson 10 #19 Posted January 17, 2018 I've not been to the Crosspool Tavern as late. The Carvery always seemed very nice to me. At least as good as a Toby or Elmwood Farm (Swallownest) better than the Fairways (Birley). So what is a really good carvery if Crosspool Tavern is as you say average?
