Advice re logbook and dismantler.

Recommended Posts

Guest

I have a car that I want rid of but I've mislaid the logbook for it.

I'm intending to give the car to one of those companies that have the car off you and pay you up to £200.

Do I obtain a new logbook first or give them the car without one and trust them to sort it?

you need the v5 to return a portion to dvla to let them know what you have done with the car

It could finish up as a 'pool car' with you registered as the owner :o

Certainly don't trust the recipient to deal with the paperwork.

It's now possible to transfer ownership immediately on line with the DVLA, but I think only during office hours.

Please don't let them have it without paperwork I did this once and saw the totally unroadworthy car parked on the side of the road with a child seat in it felt terrible not only had I been ripped of but more than likely the other person who then possessed it had been as well I had given it up because I was told it would cost too much to repair make sure the paperwork is sorted luckily I had no comeback but you are still responsible as long as it is in your name
