carltoncdx   10 #2 Posted August 29, 2015 The dual mass flywheel which you may have wears out as does the clutch. It's a gearbox out job to do it so while the box is out do the flywheel as well. If you don't and it locks up or destroys itself it may wreck the clutch AND the gearbox. I wouldn't expect much change from £4-500 to change both using decent parts. Big mistake! 2 years later it had not failed but the mettalic dust from wear caused sensors to fail and the starter motor.  Never again. That £275 I saved cost me over a thousand in the end.
