Heard a rumour the Roxy nightclub is re-opening.

Anyone else heard the same ??

Kind of... Ro y's Discotheque isn't re-opening, so no return of Grab-a-granny night, but the building is due to reopen as a live music venue.

Will it be anythink like the old Roxy used to be on friday and Sat nights?

It's going to be a 2000 - 2500 all standing music venue, run by the Academy group...I hope it's nothing like Roxy!!

are you sure? I've heard this (academy) and it sounds v exciting, but i havent read anything formal that says it is definitely going ahead. dont want to get my hopes up for nowt

Well academy music group have been given planning permission to rennovate it and use it as a live music venue, so yeah it's (almost) definately happening.

Also, AMG have said that they're wanting to have it open as soon as possible (or something like that). Doesn't look like it yet though.

Well ive always said its a good location for the new Gatecrasher. You can see that venue from miles away once its lit up .

Wasn't the building condemned, it must need a huge amount of work doing.

I hope they do it, think the city would benefit greatly
