whitelion   10 #1 Posted February 19, 2018 Tuesday 20th February: The Lowdown Acoustic Session The renowned acoustic session hosted by Rob Lowdon, of Treebeard, Jabberwocky and a performer in his own right, this gentle evening of acoustic music is open to all to listen, watch or join in. This week - a Christmas special!  8.30pm, free entry.  Wednesday 21st February: Quiz Night The highly irreverent Quiz is every Wednesday at The White. Hosted by the inimitable Mr Bling, you and your team must overcome 3 rounds of general knowledge, an audio round and a picture round in order to claim the prize.  Throw into the mix some random challenges, spot prizes, lashings of real ale and a completely free buffet with veggie, vegan and gluten-free options and you're onto a winner.  9pm, 50p entry Thursday 22nd February: Jam Night Hosted by Sheffield legend Chris Firminger and backed by his regular house band The TwoJays, this evening provides a platform for musicians from all over Sheffield and further afield.  Renowned for the musicians it attracts, the Thursday Jam sees regular attendance and performance from the likes of Julian Jones, The Carnival, Open Jaw Fayre, The Crashers, Grave Danger, Fahrenheit, Vamp and many more.  Full backline and P.A. provided, come watch or join in.  8.30pm, free entry  Friday 23rd February: Seven Day Weekend Featuring members of Metropolis, The Carnival, Metal Fatigue and Emerald City, this highly experienced band know how to entertain. Rock classics but with a twist in the tale, they're currently taking the circuit by storm and now it's your chance to catch them at The White.  9.30pm, free entry  Saturday 24th February: The Vegas Six Six steaming rockers, rooted in Yorkshire grit, kicking out pulsing Glam Blues and sleazy ass rock n roll - jabbing a sartorial finger in the eyes of innocent onlookers.  Dishing up a slice of Las Vegas - dragged through the mill and the pit, they have a mutual appreciation of faded glamour, audience intimidation and aged whisky. Wielding their instruments and lyrical barrages with no self-regard, they spread the Rock n Roll gospel according to the old gods - like a communicable disease - with all the zeal of used car salesmen.  Rock n roll how it should be played - like Gene Vincent meets The Night Of The Hunter.  9.30pm, free entry.   Saturday 25th February: The Sunday Jam Special The Sunday Jam with The Carnival is back. And this one is going to be a belter! Why - we'll it's the 3rd year anniversary of Jon & Mandy having the pub and so we're going to be having a bit of celebration.
