That aircraft in the photo is a c47 Skytrain or Dakota as it was known in Britain.It was a transport plane.The battle of Britain memorial flight have one.Buffalo airlines in Alaska still use them.Cannot believe I keep missing them flying past Sheffield.

Spitfire, Hurricane, Dakota & Vulcan all at RAF Church Fenton Airshow yesterday. Could have been on its way there.
