Supertram staff to strike..

Recommended Posts

There is no coincidence, the union knows tramlines will be busy, no point striking on a quiet day.

huh, that’s the last time I’ll believe anything I read on the internet

Still think it is crap.My opinion! And if we didn't have the tram it wouldn't have been called tramlines. Think about it, it's not a difficult concept.

Well the tramlines will still be there. Just no trams and free flowing traffic. Cant see any problems there.

Thanks supertram. Epic service. Doing the city proud. And this is aimed at both sides. Well done all. Not.

Don't think our present trams have enough capacity to serve tramline in a normal comfortable manner when no strike anyway. I am no expert on these matters and could be wrong, but am fairly certain they needed a load of busses anyway for tramlines in Hillsborough.

I often get the feeling public transport likes to play games with poor capacity to make as much money as possible while people are crammed and standing in full vehicles.

There are countries where you pay less then half price for a standing journey.

Thanks to the Tram replacement bus driver this morning who didn't have a clue where he was going. You'd think Stagecoach could provide them with a rudimentary map at least.

Heading to Meadowhall he turned right out of the bus station and headed up Queens Road. When he eventually found somewhere to turn round he got caught in the ring road system and eventually just parked up and told everyone he had clue where he was.

I managed to direct him so we got there in the end but it was all a bit shambolic.

I might just take one of these replacebusses to meadowhall just to see what funny route it must take to make up for what tram usually does.

At a guess, probably to Park Sq roundabout, up towards the Manor, turn left to head to Attercliffe past the tram depot, through Attercliffe past the EIS and then onto Meadowhall. Hardly a "funny route" given its near most of the stops.

Sounds like they have got taxi drivers driving them. :) Looks like the route they would take to get me home after a few beers.

What route would you suggest then that takes the replacement bus as near to as many of the existing stops as possible?:suspect:

My example was just a best guess, I actually dont know which route they are taking but in order to serve as many stops as possible (or as near to them), my example makes perfect sense.

I wasn't having a dig at your route particularly. It does make sense if you are going from town to meadowhall. I was just commenting that it sounds like the route taxi drivers take when I want to get from town to home. :)

New game today. Magical mystery tour on the replacememt bus. Where will we go? Who knows? Will we crash? Nearly did. This really NOT good enough Stagecoach.
