maidinsheff   10 #1 Posted August 5, 2009 Anyone have pictures of Newhall Road or Sanderson Street around 1920s? I can find plenty of images of Attercliffe but nothing specific for these two areas where my Grandparents lived.  Thanks MaidinSheff
 Share this content via...

maidinsheff   10 #3 Posted August 6, 2009 Thanks Kidorry - I never realised they were such substantial houses - can't imagine why they were all demolished - when you think what the 'replacements' turned out to be like.
 Share this content via...

maidinsheff   10 #6 Posted August 10, 2009 My mum lived at 25 Newhall Road - I am guessing that would be the opposite end of the road to where you lived. Is the Adelphi up near Attercliffe Road. I drive along there sometimes and seem to remember an old dance hall on the right hand side as you go into Sheffield.
 Share this content via...

Good old days.
 Share this content via...
bossyboots   10 #11 Posted August 10, 2009 No but I worked at Sandersons for a number of years.  So you will remember the Forge pub, my mum was a barmaid there until 1968 and my dad and husband worked at the Brightside Foundry. Kidorry   189 #12 Posted August 10, 2009 So you will remember the Forge pub, my mum was a barmaid there until 1968 and my dad and husband worked at the Brightside Foundry.  She probably served me a pint or several because we called in there after we had finished work.
