Service Road into lady Cannings plantation

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what the newly laid service? Road is that goes into to lady Cannings?? It starts on ringinglow Road and goes on for 400 or so metres... It seems massive and way beyond needs for forestry.... They normally use tracked vehicles when pulling lumber out so can't think what this might be used for..........

Im told they're developing a wild campsite. Seems a little ironic to cause such tree destruction for a "wild" site. The size of the road up to it seems totally unnecessary - its as wide as a duel carriageway!

If this is it, then it is where the Forestry Comission/SCC site vehicles will be so that they are kept away from the horses and bikes.

Saw this and immediately thought it was a euphemism.

Sorry

Thanks ....that is it...Im surprised its such a big affair---I thought it looked more the size of a road to provide access to monster trucks or drilling rigs...hence was thinking fracking trials as its not too far from the coal measures....anyway, this seems much more fun

It does look overkill but it is a forestry service road, it is an active commercial forest

As above it's gone in to allow access for foresting work and also for a proposed part time campsite in the woods. Their is a block of felling being done early in the new year.
