Police in Bus Lanes

Recommended Posts

Are the Police allowed to drive in bus lanes when it is NOT an emergency?

The other week I saw a Police van drive in the bus lane rather than queueing in the traffic on Penistone road, they turned into the Morrisons exit at the barracks and then into McDonalds – Perhaps they deemed hunger as an emergency

Did anyone else see it?

I saw it. It was absolutely shocking.

I reported it to 101, but they said that it was ok when the chips are down.

Not always. That would just give advanced warning to whoever may be committing an offence.

They should follow the example of you white van drivers and be paragons of good driving virtue.
