Where Are We Now? 50+

Where did we go, where do we go now?

What did we know, what do we know now?

How has this changed? Why has this changed?

LGBT History Month 2017

‘Where Are We Now?’ is a mixed installation exhibition recording LGBTQI History in Sheffield as part of LGBT History Month in February 2017. It will be part of a larger Sheffield-wide celebration of LGBTQI expression. The LGBT Hub and LGBT Sheffield have invited organisations to contribute positively and make LGBT History Month a real event in the city calendar. Drink Wise, Age Well, an organisation that works with people aged 50+, are keen to be involved.

Drink Wise, Age Well plans an intriguing and explorative, alive exhibition focusing on where the aged 50+ Sheffield LGBT community are now… Using photography and sound-bytes, we will document memorable LGBT spaces in the city utilising people’s personal experiences as we age and our priorities shift. Alongside this, Sheffield’s vibrant 50+ LGBT community will be celebrated in a series of commissioned photographic portraits and accompanied by bespoke audio recordings which recollect LGBT places and people from the past.
