Sheffield Supertram - The Voices

Recommended Posts

Believe it or not, they aren't synthesised voices - they are real voice over artists although I agree that some of them do sound synthesised/computer generated.

They are real voices, but the way they’ve been put together by a computer means that technically they are synthesised. It’s most evident on he yellow route, where it sounds incredibly disjointed. It’s awful to listen to and for some reason the yellow route voice is much louder than either the blue or the purple which can be difficult to hear on a busy tram.

The one I don't like is when he says Hafway instead of Halfway.

The new announcements are mainly in order to comply with changes to RVAR, the part of the disability discrimination act that applies to rail vehicles.

they should definitely upgrade and modernise the warnings. On Friday and Saturday nights they should warn people alighting from trams in town to be careful not to trip over homeless people and beggars.
