Recommended Posts

Hi this black box pops up just off centre it literally flashes up for a split second no idea when it is going to appear so I dont get chance to look at it it just flashes up but I think I read at the top bar of it 'hardware' could be wrong

Ran a malware scan and antivirus and nothing came up my laptop is working as far as I know well I was just wondering should I be concernded about it does anyone know anything about it ?

Its a HP Envy 2016 windows 10 laptop not used any storage really

Could just be some driver or software update in the background, the "black box" could be a command prompt....

i'd have to see it to be 100% sure, but if scans show nothing, then I wouldn't worry about it...

If you only saw it when you boot up, then don't worry about it, it's just something doing what it should and "starting" when you load windows...

mine pops up a couple of black boxes, but those are for my RGB lights I have in my PC, yours could be for anything (Audio for example)

if it's not effecting the use of the computer, and only when you boot up, it'll be normal and I wouldn't worry about it..

If you go into services there should be a log of various events that you could look at - will post back later. ;)

From the menu (Win logo button on the panel), scroll down to Windows Administrative Tools, then check out Event Viewer | Administrative events, and also check System under Windows Logs for information that might shed some light on the issue. ;)
