Jimmy Carol, ex BBC Sheffield broadcaster is seriously ill in hospital in Benidorm.

It appears that while doing a show, he went to the aid of a lady being threatened in the audience.

Some idiot (seemingly a Brit) whalloped him and ran away.

Blimey! Saw Jimmy Carol in Talk of the Town the other week. Hope he recovers and the low life that did this gets caught. Presumably the woman involved knows him. I am pretty sure Jimmy will press charges and there will be plenty of witness's.

Surely someone in the audience had a phone/camera on them, but don’t expect the Spanish police to break into a sweat over it, hopefully he recovers and his attacker is identified.

I really hope he will recover, most of my friends know him personally.

He has briefly come out of coma in confused state but put back in coma for now.

Never heard of the man, but reading the story it would seem he is a decent bloke, trying to stop some louts from pestering a group of Ladies.

On Radio Sheffield yesterday an update from his son said Jimmy had taken a turn for the worse,poor guy.
