The forecast for slightly inclement weather didn’t deter parkrunners once again turning out in their thousands!

There were 44/45 parkruns in the Yorkshire & Humber region. The only cancellation was Temple Newsam (other event taking place).

Total attendance was 11201, a decrease of 98 (0.9%) from last week. Of the 42 events that took place both last week and this, 15 saw an increase in attendance, 27 had a decrease.

Region attendance was 11000+ for an eighth consecutive week.

Rother Valley (393) broke its attendance record for the second time in three weeks.

Sheffield Hallam (678) and Huddersfield’s attendances (636) were unique for the region.

Northallerton, Rotherham and Wetherby all had attendances of 86.

The average weekly attendance over the last 12 months has increased by 7% (8310 to 8911). The mean attendance per parkrun per week over the history of parkrun for the region is 197.9; the median is 158.

Regional round up - Lovely conditions for parkrunning again. After an extended winter, we have certainly been blessed over recent weeks.

There were 40/45 parkruns in the Yorkshire & Humber region. Cancellations (due to other events taking place) were at Catterick, Goole, Rother Valley, Roundhay and Wetherby. This was the fewest number of parkruns, and most cancellations since 17 March (36/43).

Total attendance was 10895, a decrease of 306 (2.7%) from last week. Of the 39 events that took place both last week and this, 25 saw an increase in attendance, 13 had a decrease and one, Horton Park (69), was the same.

Region attendance was 10000+ for a tenth consecutive week; the sequence of 11000+ ended after a record eight weeks.

Sheffield Hallam’s (751) attendance was unique for the region.

Halifax had an attendance of 158 at its 158th parkrun.

Kate James (251st place) was Fountains Abbey’s 60,000th ever finisher; Raveena Bhambra (262nd) was York’s 100,000th finisher.

The average weekly attendance over the last 12 months has increased by 7% (8357 to 8922). The mean attendance per parkrun per week over the history of parkrun for the region is 198.2; the median is 158.

STAT OF THE WEEK: The top 59 people in terms of number of parkruns completed all ran this week. I wonder wether Rory (449) from Graves, is one of them.

STAT OF THE WEEK 2: In the Yorks & Humberside Region - Sheffield Castle’s attendance of 33 is the 35th instance of an attendance of exactly 33, 10 of them at Sheff Castle. This is the only attendance where its number of instances exceeds the attendance itself.

I don't know what was occurin' in Rotherham but the tramlines preparation in Hillsborough park boosted Concord to its highest (non-christmas day) attendance.

Castle also benifited but their massive increase on last week was more to do with a low number from last week.

Prepare for records next week.

Tramline cancellations at Hillsbro' and Hallam will put about 1,000 Sheffield parkrunners into tourist mode!

Beware! We are in the cancellation season and a pre-run check is advisable.

It would appear that a poor weather forecast (there was a lot of rain around Yorkshire just before 9am) and the start of the school summer holidays resulted in a significant reduction in parkrun attendance this weekend.

There were 44/46 parkruns in the Yorkshire & Humber region. Cancellations were at Sheffield Hallam (second week in a row; this time for Pride event) and York (races).

Total attendance was 7685, a decrease of 1872 (19.6%) from the previous week. This is the lowest attendance across the region since 17 March (5330).

Of the 41 events that took place both weeks, three (Cleethorpes, Fountains Abbey and Heslington) saw an increase in attendance and 38 had a decrease.

Heslington had the largest increase nationally (112), Brighouse the largest national decrease (269) and Doncaster was the national median (182). (Thanks to Elliott Line for those.)

Armley and Skipton both had attendances of 142; Brighouse and Nostell both had 162.

Out of 10625 parkruns over the region’s history, 9999 have had an attendance of 467 or fewer.

The average weekly attendance over the last 12 months has increased by 8% (8479 to 9151). The mean attendance per parkrun per week over the history of parkrun for the region is 199.2 (this has fallen since last week - by 0.1); the median is 159.

Looking forward to the new route at Graves parkrun. I think they're trailing it tonight, not sure when they'll fully roll it out though. Won't miss the bottleneck on that narrow path by the 'lake'!
