Bus to Northern General Barnsley Road Entrance

It’s been a long time since I’ve had to go to the Northern General. I need to get from Haymarket/Waingate to Barnsley Road Entrance. What number bus these days and where from?

Theres probably others but the 88 would do the job.

Stagecoach 1/ First 1A to High Green - every 6 mins

Stagecoach 2 to Barnsley - every 30 mins

First3/3A to Meadowhall - every 10 mins

Stagecoach 88 to Ecclesfield - every 10 mins

If you want to get off at stop before Fir Vale lights and walk in through old Barnsley Road entrance, can also catch:

First 75/76 to Shiregreen - every 6 mins

All depart from Waingate / Castle Markets or Arundel Gate

Do you know where it stops?

In town on Arundel Gate then opposite the old markets.

Top of the hospital entrance on Barnsley Road.

1, 1a, 2 or 88 are the more direct buses.

No 75/76 would be your best bit and you need to get off at the Tesco express bus top at the bottom of Barnsley road.

I've had quite a few appointments at the NGH and I use the 88. You catch it at Waingate CG12 bus stop (just opposite the old Castle Market) and get off outside the hospital on Barnsley Road.
