OFCOM: ISPs must provide minimum guaranteed speed

Recommended Posts

As from 1 March 2019, ISPs must provide estimated realistic speeds at peak times & always provide a minimum guaranteed speed.

It will be interesting to see how ISPs handle this in practice

I find this appauling, and I think there should be a government scheme to educate the general public on WHY the speeds vary so much, rather than putting it on the ISP's to do something about, as most of them are tied and limited in what they can/cannot do due to being tied to BT's network... if BT's network isn't up to it, then why should a re-sold ISP get the blame?

Unless BT are going to re-wire everyone to the closest box/exchange when required, for FREE, it won't ever work and will cause no end of problems...
