An evening with Treebeard & friends LIVE at Maida Vale This Friday20th

Recommended Posts

In a change to the advertised billing we now have what promises to be a superb evening of Contemporary Electric and Acoustic Folk from Sheffield legends:

Treebeard and friends

with Chris Treebeard and the rest of the band providing the psychedelic electric folk covers of pop and rock classics!! 8-10 FREE ENTRY followed as always by Mod For It at Maida Vale DJ's 10-Late

Treebeard were formed in 1998 by Haze & World Turtle brothers Chris & Paul McMahon with Paul Chisnell, later joined by Cat & Ceri Ashton (of The Outlandish Knights & Hiraeth) on fiddle/flute.

The band play original songs as well as a selection of rock, pop, folk (& even country!) songs & tunes in their own inimitable way, and are regulars on the beer festival circuit, playing Sheffield, Derby, Tamworth, Newark, Stockport, Lincoln & Barnsley festivals.

They describe their style as 'Heavy Wood', and in 2010 released "Reel Ale", the follow up to their debut CD 'Heavy Wood' on Gabadon Records. Their track ‘Train’ is featured on the ‘Forged in Sheffield’ folk compilation CD
