SteveG1   10 #1 Posted April 17, 2018 In a change to the advertised billing we now have what promises to be a superb evening of Contemporary Electric and Acoustic Folk from Sheffield legends:  Treebeard and friends with Chris Treebeard and the rest of the band providing the psychedelic electric folk covers of pop and rock classics!! 8-10 FREE ENTRY followed as always by Mod For It at Maida Vale DJ's 10-Late  Treebeard were formed in 1998 by Haze & World Turtle brothers Chris & Paul McMahon with Paul Chisnell, later joined by Cat & Ceri Ashton (of The Outlandish Knights & Hiraeth) on fiddle/flute.  The band play original songs as well as a selection of rock, pop, folk (& even country!) songs & tunes in their own inimitable way, and are regulars on the beer festival circuit, playing Sheffield, Derby, Tamworth, Newark, Stockport, Lincoln & Barnsley festivals.  They describe their style as 'Heavy Wood', and in 2010 released "Reel Ale", the follow up to their debut CD 'Heavy Wood' on Gabadon Records.
