£500 for flywheel and clutch sounds expensive? How much would you expect to pay?

if it is a 'dual mass' flywheel, £500 is cheap. Cost £900 for my Focus.

Why would you wish to go to all the trouble of removing the gearbox and all the other bits to fit second hand parts,if they fail in a couple of weeks all this work will have to be done again and without any warranties.

..same as Bullerboy. You just don't fit second hand clutches. Are you sure it needs the flywheel? Have you checked the old one for excessive movement?
