Thomas The Tank Engine Has Gone PC

Proof that we have taken PC to another level of madness? yes/no

On the telly this morning, Thomas the Tank Engine has been brought up to date. Out with the Fat Controller, in with the slim Lady controller. Out with male engine names, in with female engine names.

Is there really a case to alter the books we all love, just to bring them up to date?

A quick Google shows the Thomas the Tank engine book was first published in 1945, making its debut on the telly in 1984

I suspect (if not done all ready) that Postman Pat will soon become Postwoman Patricia. Or maybe just Postie so as not to offend our Gender Fluid friends.

There is a serious point to be made here actually about how programme and film makers these days are becoming too preoccupied with pc box ticking and forgetting to actually create something entertaining.

I think the programme and film makers will produce whatever makes them the most money.

It’s called CAPITALISM and apparently it’s the best system ever, or so I’ve been told, because it allows equality for all, even though some are more equal than others.
