I remember reformatting hard drives and inserting disc after disc to reinstall.

 

Or maybe that was 3.1

3.1 definitely however 95 did come on 13 DMF floppy disks.

 

DMF, Digital Media Format, were specially formatted disks that held above the standard 1.44Mb (1.88Mb IIRC)

IT came on floppy yes. Usually it was the penultimate one that failed and you couldn't complete the install...

 

Revolutionary it also came on a CD! But you couldn't boot the CD.... needed a boot floppy...

I had the 'pleasure' of installing Win95 on 36 PCs via floppy.

I think I still have it on my very first Pentium 120 - that I upgraded to AMD 400 using Evergreen processor.

 

Has Matrox Mystique 220, with RainbowRunner add-on, Matrox 3d card and Matrox TV (analogue) card. LOL!

good old times, I do remember having using it on our first computer... now you can just download the new versions via internet

Yeah I had the same joy once.

 

When asked again I cloned the hard drive. Then found that runs into problems with the SID.... :(

I remember Windows 95 I had a 'tiny' Computer it was painfully slow and I can remember an error message coming up saying something about an illegal move or along those lines that would 5H1T me up lol
