Connect Android phone to QNAP server

Recommended Posts

Hi, we had a query on sharing QNAP NAS on Zorin 12.2 on the Zorin Forum - don't know if anything is of use on the thread that solved the issue for the Zorin member:

All avenues have been explored, many thanks for all the help anyway.

As i stated earlier i am thinking of just upgradng to a newer box anyway, and i would welcome any sugestions, this is one i think may suit my price range.

I have had that one for nearly 2 years now, it's brilliant for what I use it for...Plex streaming, photo backup, file backup.

Only thing with Plex I have found, is that it doesn't have enough power to stream 4K, only 1080 HD.

I also bought an extra stick of RAM for it, bumped it up to 4GB, just to give it an extra boost.

I have a low end 2 bay Synology NAS. Very happy with it. The only downside is no video transcoding on the fly. 2 bay QNAP NAS enclosure is 180 quid on Amazon, guessing a Synology would be around that price too.

Many thanks, where and how much did you purchase if for, is the price about right, and where did you buy the RAM, Cheers

Amazon, it was about £350.

I can't remember where I bought the RAM, but it's just a standard type, it's not specialist
