The New Moor Market

I went recently and its vastly improved from when it opened, but still in no way whatsoever feels like the market hall of a big city.

Its interesting that when the main problem with Sheffields retail offer is that its layout is linear, they took a key part of it from one end, and rebuilt it right at the other end.

Aldi and Asda is good enough for me cheaper and nearer. So this market wouldn't get my vote.

Does the guy in the football kit still "work" there? I used to see him at Castle Market.

the lay out is awfull and theres many empty stalls

I've vote for it been one of the worst with lack of atmosphere

and me its rubbish, Barnsley is far, far better.

Hasn't Barnsley just got a new Market hall? Not been yet, but the old market was very good.

Bang on the Barnsley Council should be congratulated on the refurbishment of the Market area ,they are doing what Sheffield Council only talks about inc a new library bang where it is needed .all this new building work has been or is being done over a two year period with no disruption to local traders.

Been to the moor Six times this month and every time passed new market without even looking at it.

Got some fun performers on moor lately and it gives the illusion homelessness has been solved.

Homelessness will never be solved 100% but I dont think the council can be blamed for it. Central govt to an extent maybe

Yes, I see him most weeks, though I never see him doing any ''work'' just shouting to the stallholders. I think he has been banned from doing any kind of work in there.

Yeah he seemed harmless enough. I used to remember when he would be regularly helping them out lifting boxes and the like.

I went into the market last week, it’s about three months since my last visit, and was amazed to see another two nail bars had opened, just how many false nail bars do we need ? There are less fish and meat stalls than when it opened, there was a new stall selling Indian food, ready made curries etc. I can recommend their onion bhajis and lamb samosa. It seems unless you wish to purchase all things vape related ( must be about four stalls selling this now ) or wish to have false nails added there really isn’t a lot to see. However I shall still keep going for my tomato sausage for however long the butchers can keep trading.
