Understanding the universe.

Recommended Posts

They aren't being serious no.

Nobody (unless perhaps those with a mental illness) believe that the earth is flat. MAC33 is a troll. They refuse to answer very easy questions because they aren't invested in what they are purporting to believe. Instead they bring up another nonsensical titbit, or misquote some irrelevant quotation.

Annoying, but ultimately harmless. Best to ignore.

MAC33 is a "conspiracy theorist" and will buy into any theory that some mysterious new world order or similar are trying to hide the "real truth" from everyone - no matter how stupid the theory. He exhibits behaviours exactly the same as other CT's have done on numerous other threads over the years - ignore questions and cite "evidence" from CT websites and the "University of Youtube".

For all the flat earth believers.

Research how the sums are done -and how the Tables that go with them are derived- and you will conclude that the earth is not flat.

It's not going to work, you know.

Once something is added to your collection of beliefs, you protect it from harm. You do it instinctively and unconsciously when confronted with attitude-inconsistent information. Just as confirmation bias shields you when you actively seek information, the backfire effect defends you when the information seeks you, when it blindsides you. Coming or going, you stick to your beliefs instead of questioning them. When someone tries to correct you, tries to dilute your misconceptions, it backfires and strengthens them instead. Over time, the backfire effect helps make you less skeptical of those things which allow you to continue seeing your beliefs and attitudes as true and proper.

It's also been proved that conspiracy theorists brains are wired up differently too, we can argue facts until the cows come home, it wont change a dot

Really?

Any more reading on that it sounds fascinating...
