All sensible suggestions above. I suppose it depends whether you actually want to stay in Sheffield centre, or be somewhere a bit nicer? There are lots of wonderful places to stay in the nearby Peak District - and they are still within 20 mins drive of Shefield centre. Unusually, for most cities, Sheffield is very, very close to stunning countryside which means you can stay in the most wonderful scenic countryside - yet still commute into the city easily if need be.

This is on the A61 dual carriageway - about 4 miles south of the city centre. Very good access to M1 North and South from there. The township of Dronfield, with many decent pubs and eateries, is close by.

Further down the A61 dual carriageway, near the big Tesco Extra. A very nice 4 star hotel with beautiful bedrooms - and easy access to M1 North and South. About 25 mins south of Sheffield city centre.
