remmie   10 #1 Posted June 13, 2009 I am in the initial stages of organising a music event in association with Love Music Hate Racism. In reaction to the British Nazi Party's success in the euro-elections and with the summer months approaching, its the perfect time to make some noise.  The idea is to hold a music festival on Devonshire Green, so my first question would be who do I need to speak to in order to get permission to hold it here?  Secondly, I will be putting together a nice big list of performers so please get in touch if you are involved in a performance act (not just music) and are willing to perform at the event.  I will have Sheffield Samba Band on board (as I'm in it) and am hoping to get hold of Capoeira groups, fire poi performers, bhangra groups, african music groups (as many djembe as possible!) acoustic bands and buskers.  Any information with you have that you feel might be useful please share. This event is about diversity and celebrating Sheffield's vibrant cultures from all over the globe! Love Music, Hate Racism! Ousetunes   10 #3 Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) Great, just what we need.  Another event to bring together The Great Unwashed.  Don't you ever consider that by staging these pointless rallies you're probably doing more to promote the likes of BNP?  As much as I detest what the BNP stand for, this is supposed to be a democratic country but I'd guess you'd reckon that's irrelevant. You'd stage an Anti-Toothbrushing Rally just to give you something to do.  Don't forget to bring your free range eggs, folks.... damo   10 #4 Posted June 13, 2009 as Ousetunes said  I'm sick to death of people trying to censor the BNP and staging these stupid protests that no one else really gives a damn about.
 Share this content via...
JFKvsNixon   11 #5 Posted June 13, 2009 Who has said anything about banning or censoring the BNP? Quite rightly the BNP are allowed their voice, shouldn't the people who appose racism be allowed their voice also?
 Share this content via...

THE NEWCOMER Â Â 10 #8 Posted June 13, 2009 Who has said anything about banning or censoring the BNP? Quite rightly the BNP are allowed their voice, shouldn't the people who appose racism be allowed their voice also? Â Here, here ! How many radical muslim groups regularly meet throughout Britan preaching hatred towards this country. I could go on and on and on and on. Some people cant see (or are too young to realise) how the country is being affected by too many cultures on a small island. You can't have it both ways. They're both as bad as each other as far as I am concerned, both feeding off each others hatred. Thewickerman   10 #10 Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) I seem to recollect Hitler was voted in on the basis of socialist worker party ethics, german jobs for german people etc. Oops didn't they (and the rest of us) pay for it!! BNP isn't democratic (non- whites can't be members etc) so don't belive the rhetoric. Multi-culturalism isn't the problem, it's the people that can't manage it. Anyone who votes BNP be warned - you will pay for it in the long run!  We'll do the gig!  PM me  _______________ We don't need that fascist groove thang! JFKvsNixon   11 #12 Posted June 13, 2009 well last time i walked past one of these protests (last night) they had posters with "BAN THE BNP" etc emblazoned on them  so to answer your question....they said it!  i don't agree with the entirety of the BNP's views however it's very difficult not to agree with some of their manifesto when you witness the things I do day in day out.  There are more then one group of people who oppose the racist views of the BNP, just because one group of people you saw had ban the BNP placards doesn't mean that all the people who oppose the BNP want them banned.
