apelike 10 #97 Posted June 23, 2018 I notice this is in the headlines again: https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/fury-over-motorists-cutting-up-funeral-processions-in-sheffield-1-9219212 This is almost the same article with the same man complaining as in the last one over 6 months ago or so, the snow in the photo gives it away. Looks like they are a sucker for giving free publicity and not checking previous articles. Mind you I couldn't either as the search function now seems to be missing. It is based on new facebook posts by Mr Fogg. It is an ongoing cause of his but is referring to new incidents. Old Star article: https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/funeral-home-catches-road-rage-idiots-on-camera-1-8139440 Thankfully I don't do Facebook! Perhaps he should state at what speed the funeral procession drives at and why it is acceptable to drive at that speed. He should also be aware that it is dangerous to other road users to have a number of cars driving in a procession at below the normal speed limit. Weredoomed 10 #100 Posted July 6, 2018 ...again. https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/tinsley-viaduct-to-close-for-urgent-5-4m-road-repairs-1-9238425 It's not closing, it's being restricted. The repairs aren't urgent, otherwise they'd be happening now (and trust me I've inside knowledge on this). Still, never let the facts get in the way of sexing up a story, eh? Daven 10 #102 Posted July 6, 2018 The Star very rarely gets it right so no surprise there I guess.
 Share this content via...
woodmally 10 #103 Posted August 22, 2018 Firstly I don't mind the big international headlines but of late it seems very random the around the country stories they choose to print. For example today something has happened at Huddersfield Hospital. I grant you it has the usual lack of details that we expect from the Sheffield Star but why do we need to know this? Would we also get a story if this happened in say Dorset? https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/yorkshire-hospital-in-lockdown-as-patients-warned-to-stay-away-due-to-major-incident-1-9313215 ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 11:21 ---------- Firstly I don't mind the big international headlines but of late it seems very random the around the country stories they choose to print. woodmally 10 #104 Posted August 23, 2018 I cant believe its been 5 months since the Star reported this dramatic event in Sheffield. I am really pleased as to how quick we recovered from the ordeal. https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/police-spotted-in-sheffield-city-centre-home-were-carrying-out-enquiries-as-part-of-ongoing-investigation-1-9068734 Does everyone remember where you was when this happened? woodmally 10 #105 Posted September 16, 2018 Just read the Sheffield Star webpage today about the latest shooting. This quote is a priceless piece of journalism. One shop owner, who did not wish to be named, said: “I wasn’t here at the time but I’ve heard someone has been shot.”
 Share this content via...
DerbyTup 10 #106 Posted September 16, 2018 I don't think The Star has their Crossword online but the nationals do, Guardian's is free. https://www.theguardian.com/crosswords you can really mess up your computer screen by writing on it though!
