How long does a bank transfer take?

Beware, there is a lot of incorrect information on this thread!

 

Since 2008 most banks now use the Faster Payment Service - these usually are free but arrive on the same day.

Usually might not be enough though. I wanted to transfer money from Intelligent finance into my LLoyds account and IF said upto to four days.

Can be up to 5 days.

i was told 10 days

is it quick and instant or will they have to wait?
