Brilliant final, and I'm glad that Mark Williams finally won, he showed real poise and calmness. Though Higgins mounted a valiant fightback.

About time, one of my favourites since he won in 2000, just read he almost retired after last year but his wife changed his mind

Was well chuffed when Mark Williams won, especially as his missus recently convinced him not to retire. £425k is a nice little nest-egg for his retirement fund.

Never liked John Higgins since the sting he got caught up in back in 2010. I've watched the video several times and I'm not convinced that his 'duress' argument held much water. Stephen Lee got a 12 year ban for match fixing - why was the same ban not handed down to John Higgins?
