RIP - Professor Stephen Hawking

An absolute giant in his field, he will be compared to the likes of Einstein. Was he ever offered a knighthood by the way? I ask because in the same week as Sir Ken Dodd dies, and I mean no disrespect to him, if he wasn’t then surely he should have been.

Sharing all the tributes, I had the highest respect for him, not only as a scientist, but as an amazing human being.

He refused a knighthood, but he most certainly deserved one.

The guy was bigger than and worth so much more than a meaningless bauble.

He did well to make it to the age he did with his very rare form of motor neurone disease.

An inspiration and a genius. RIP.

Yes I wondered why he wasn't knighted-a well esteemed man- and yet it has been have received for having goofy teeth, unruly hair and walking around with feather dusters telling jokes.
