EMS Training - do I really have to do those positions and moves?

Recommended Posts

I am new to sport. I am 37. All my life I never had a desire. Now, thank God, I want to. I look forward to the gym.

When I hold a free weight my hand shakes. I have no coordination whatsoever. I have found machines to work all of my muscles and I feel much more comfortable using these as opposed to free weights.

Then I started EMS. The centre I go to recommends I do different positions and movements during the vibrations. I find them so difficult, again because of having no coordination. The trainer constantly tells me that this is something I have to work on.

Friends tell me that it comes with time, and quite suddendly, that one day it will just come to me. I know this is my only weakness because the rest will come. I have the desire and motivation!

Today my back hurts and I blame one of those silly moves I had to do with EMS.

I want to ask. Will I still see results from EMS if I do no movements at all, the next time I say to the trainer Look, these movements and exercises are just not for me, at at least for now, maybe I want to try them later?

Thank you for your help.

It's referenced. You can follow the links if you're that bothered. Or look at any number of other sites which say exactly the same thing. Shouldn't take more that a few minutes googling to reach the conclusion that it's no good for anyone outside of a few fringe cases.
