Well, I watched the very first episode as a teenager, and it scared me to death, it was just like stepping out of the back door and walking to our nearest shop, 3 women gossiping in the shop and the inside of the houses looked just like ours, with folks to match the neighbours up and down the street. The show then was meant to reflect working class life in the north of England, and it did a good job of it. Today's show is a load of American style codswallop.
