petemcewan   27 #1 Posted October 25, 2018 (edited) Is it possible to establish on the Forum: "The Sheffield Forum Canon of Literature" ? (20th Century ). A, must read ,list of great 20th Century literature -according to the tastes of Forum readers.  I'd start the list with:   Barcelona Plates  by Alexei Sayle and I'll add:   The Dubliners By James.Joyce.  Murphy. Samuel.Beckett.  The Meaning Of It All, Thoughts of a Citizen-Scientist. Richard .P. Feynman. petemcewan   27 #3 Posted October 26, 2018 I think this would be helpful to those considering making a contribution:  Literature, most generically, is any body of written works. More restrictively, literature refers to writing considered to be an art form, or any single writing deemed to have artistic or intellectual value. petemcewan   27 #4 Posted November 12, 2018 (edited) Longcol,  I shall get that book and read it.  You may find the link of some interest to you.  I think it would enhance the standing of the Sheffield Forum if we came up with our own "Canon".   https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2017/10/the_canon_misfires_at_cambridge_university.html Edited November 12, 2018 by petemcewan
 Share this content via...
