Bladerunner sequel due out Oct 2017

I loved the original (and the many incarnations Scott keeps releasing) but is there any real artistic need for the sequel three decades later?

It will star Harrison Ford again as Deckard (riding high on the latest Star Wars return?), Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright (Sean Penn's ex).

Hope it goes well, Scott is a producer but dropped the directorial helm so he could direct Prometheus II. I don't know if director Denis Villeneuve has done anything prolific before.
