Chrome viruses /spyware?

Recommended Posts

recently switched from IE11 to Chrome.

Impressed, however when I run spybot -search & destroy it always finds...

CasaleMedia

& Double Click

So I remove them, but as soon as I reuse Chrome, they're back.

This does not happen with IE11.

I'd like to be able to prevent them, any suggestions please?

Maybe an extension that's been added to Chrome, go to the Extensions and check/remove from there...

If not, then they'll be running somewhere else, waiting for Chrome to load to jump on it!

Sorry Ghozer, but not the most knowledgeable re computers.

Looked for it here, https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions?hl=en

Don't know where to find.

in Chrome, click the 3 dots (top right under where you close it)

Then click "More Tools" then "Extensions" - see what's in there if you're not sure of something, disable/remove it... :)

I've

Avast Online Security switched off.

Avast SafePrice switched off

Google Docs offline switched on

Chrome Apps Docs switched on

Chrome Apps Sheets switched on

The developer mode was switched off.

Anything dodgy there please?

(Avast free antivirus is on though via the hidden icons!)

Nothing dodgy there. CasaleMedia & Double Click seem to be tracking cookies, nothing much to worry about. Go into settings and turn off third party cookies. You may also want to try adding the "ublock origin" addon which should block most of these sorts of cookies.

Sorry I haven't replied after everyone's help.

Still having same problems identifies with spybot, but only with chrome.

Used FireFox last night and didn't get the problems. May try that for a bit longer.
