Problem with newsgroup

I use a group: soc.genealogy.britainwhich I access through Thunderbird

Today, all I get when trying to log on to it is the following:

For several months the site has been the recipient of messages such as: girl seeks H......y man for enjoyable time, most of which I have managed to filter out.

Can anyone tell me if this group has gone for ever or how I can access it.

I set up access to this news group years ago and it was I right pain due to my lack of knowledge.

Have managed to find the news group by googling and searching various sites
