PopT Â Â 10 #18 Posted May 25, 2004 My wife's next door neighbour was a 'Wiggies' man. Â He was the one of the blokes who came knocking on the door expecting to collect payments every week. Â When we were courting I never used to talk to him as I knew he collected in our yard and the number of times no-one was in was remarkable. Â Shouts off, 'We're, not in!' were common in those days. Â Happy Days
 Share this content via...
Bushbaby   11 #19 Posted May 25, 2004 Best Christmas present I ever had came from Wiggie's. It was a Hi-Fi record deck with detachable speakers, which could be wall mounted. I had just started collecting records (see my account of "The Buccaneer"), and didn't want to mess them up on the family radiogramme. MY dad put me the deposit on a Ferguson, £5 I think, and I paid the weeklies. I didn't pay a TallyMan though, I used to go in with my card on payday. I'm proud to say I never missed. This would have been 1970 I guess.
 Share this content via...
