LouiseSheff   10 #3 Posted November 24, 2015 Hi Kate,  My name is Louise Larcombe, I am the Marketing Manager at the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife & Falconry Centre near Sheffield.  We're running a knitting competition in case anyone in your group's interested...  We would love knitting enthusiasts to knit jumpers for our new Skinny Pigs and their incredibly cute babies which have been born last week.  Skinny Pigs are an almost hairless breed of Guinea Pig and we now have 4 - Fluffy and Baldrick, and their 2 babies. If you or any of your knitting group would like to take part, we would suggest that a sensitive yarn is used, so as not to irritate the Skinny Pigs hairless skin.  Mum and dad are approximately 9 inches long and 11 inches in circumference around their tummies, with the jumper ideally being approximately 4 inches long. Their babies are 3 inches long and 5 inches in circumference, and we would suggest the jumper be 3 inches long so that they can grow in to them.  Here are some photos of the Skinny Pigs in Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qw722wzu74f4bqt/AADhcaW1v7yT2Edh72mdbypKa?dl=0  Knitters can send their donated miniature jumpers in to the following address: Louise Larcombe Marketing Manager Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife & Falconry Centre Woodsetts Road North Anston Sheffield South Yorkshire S25 4EQ If anyone has any questions please email myself up until 3rd December and then info@butterflyhouse.co.uk (I return from holiday on 13th December)  Our favourite will win an afternoon tea for 2 and a cuddle and photo with the Skinny Pigs!  In order to be entered into the draw, the centre must receive the jumper with contact details by 4th January 2016. Photos of the entrants jumpers will be shared on our website and on social media as and when received.  Thanks,  Louise  Louise Larcombe Marketing Manager Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife & Falconry Centre Email: marketing@butterflyhouse.co.uk Phone: 01909 569416 ext. 36  http://www.butterflyhouse.co.uk http://www.facebook.com/TropicalButterflyHouse http://www.twitter.com/TropButterfly http://www.youtube.com/user/Butt3rflyHouse
 Share this content via...
Kate Craft   10 #4 Posted November 24, 2015 The knitting group will not be meeting this Friday 27th as Julia Donaldson, author of The Gruffalo, is coming to the library (and it might get a bit busy!). Our next meeting is Friday 4th December, Broomhill Library, upstairs. £1.50 for a cup of tea or coffee and as many custard creams as you like. Everyone welcome.
