There's more than 1 roundabout in the city centre, what does everyone else call it?

Castle Square is the true name of what people colloquially call The Hole In The Road.As yet, Park Square has not acquired a sobriquet.

Why would anyone want to cycle round the University or the other major roundabouts especially when it is very busy or in low visibility conditions?

The hole in the road isn't a roundabout and hasn't been for 20+ years! :thumbsup:

Park Square is often called the magic roundabout.

Is this like "why did the chicken cross the road?"

Presumably they want to cycle around them in order to go somewhere on the other side.

<Enters pedant mode>

Park Square is not actually a roundabout - it is not governed by roundabout rules. It is a series of traffic light controlled junctions that just happened to be laid out to roughly form a circle. Same applies to the “roundabouts” at each end of the Tinsley Viaduct.

<Leaves pedant mode...

...for now>

I don't like any roundabout that gets obscured by vegetation, as for instance, St Mary's.

Nobody is forcing you to cycle round a dangerous roundabout though are they? You have the option to dismount and pretend you're a pedestrian who use the proper traffic controlled crossings. If people driving cars complain about how bad those roundabouts are I only imagine how many times worse it could be on a bike.

Until the the recent changes to the road layout, this had been the cycle path to by-pass the roundabout on Brook Hill (thanks to Warrington Cycle Campaign’s facility of the month). There since the tram was installed until last year’s road works.

End of the parkway on the Rotherham side. The lane markings are completely wrong to go from the parkway to Rotherham. If you stay in the lane marked "Roth" you end up on the M1 and have to cross over or start in the wrong lane and expect people to cross across
