Was owned by William Trippett (or he worked as a butcher there) from the 1900 to 1950's, wife was called Kate and had a son William.

Last information that they lived 39 Catherine Rd.,Burngreave, according to White's 1919/20 Directory and he was a asst. butcher.

The 1942 directory gives William Tricket butcher 58 Howard St

house 54 Chatsworth Rd Totley Rise.

not listed at 54 in 1951.

Thank you Hutch,

Tricket doesn't sound like Trippett but could be, only ever met him at Howard St. during the late 40's, never went to house as far as I can remember, considering only 7/12 hardly surprising.

Son William I believe was in the police force in Attercliffe.

Thank you once again Hutch,

James William would be the right one, knew that he was Inspector in the 40's but never got up dated ( mother very reluctant to part with info).

Had more info. in last 2 days than I have been able to get for years, all I have to do now is find family connection.:)

The William Trippett you enquire about was my grandfather.

Who is seeking information about him and why?

Worth pointing out that the original post dates from almost 10 years ago...
