Recommended Posts

Well for any Zorin users out there I have started an 'unofficial' manual for 12.2 Core which can be found here:

See last post #6 in this thread. Thanks

See post #6 below

No longer compressed - now just pdf - still a work-in-progress - far from complete!

And you can preview online before downloading.

Hi Core, Glad you like the manual - it is by no means finished yet! ;)

Come back here if you are having issues and I'll try to help - but the manual should get you on the right track for starters, and there's always the forum on which I moderate:

I was impressed with the most recent Linux Format mag which had 32-bit distros for older kit and not only that, PAE free! My favourite off the cover was/is Antix.

Well just when you think it is complete I have discovered an issue in respect of the built in screenreader, Orca, and the commands "Insert+Space" to bring up preferences whilst working on a Desktop, might not work on a notebook. The workaround is to:

1. Press Alt+ F2

2. In the dialogue box that appears, enter:

orca --setup

And reflecting today, I also need to explain how to install a game by copying the contents of a game CD into the .wine folder's fake 'C:\' drive so will amend both these items in due course. Apologies and thanks for your patience.

Okay, not quite finished tweaking the Core Manual but now started one for the Zorin OS 12.x Lite version. A word of warning beforehand - old Notebooks/computers that don't support PAE (Physical Address Extension) don't attempt to run Lite - go for AntiX-17 or SolydX Community Editions (Stable).
