'Windrush generation' face deportation threat.

Recommended Posts

Seen this on the news tonight.

Strange that people that the UK Govt invited here decades ago, who have worked, paid taxes & are well established, now face possible deportation, yet we don't appear to deport EU nationals who haven't found work within 6 months, (there are increasing numbers of EU nationals living on the streets, especially in London), which is allowed under EU law or deport those who have entered the UK illegally via the back of a lorry.

Incredible.

i hope the Home Office sort this out properly. I feel for the man who has lost his job, he's worked all his life here. He, and others like him, need to be given correct documents as a matter of urgency!

Absolutely ridiculous.

Anyone in this situation should be left alone until the government can get this mess sorted out.

Its the home office going after easy targets to try and show they are doing something.

Yes. it's always easier to target those who have a fixed address and a family.

This is massively unfair.

Exactly right.

Not just them either - I have read many cases of people applying for ILR being denied on any technicality they can find, even though in these cases the people had lived here > 5 years, had permanent jobs and were paying tax etc.

Stupid Home Office jobsworths fuelling Corbyn and co’s fires of hatred, pull your finger out Amber Rudd and sort out the lobotomised idiot who is responsible for this, even if it’s you.

Anyone with a national insurance number that has been paying tax for many years should be discounted from being sent 'home'.

That's far too sensible!

Not sure why Labour are getting the blame; but well done for trying to turn this into a Corbyn bashing thread
