They sell blank DVD dual layers.  Check out Verbatim DVD+R DL they have a higher capacity and longevity than common blank DVD DL. They can also take a few scratches.  With a blank Verbatim DVD+R DL; You will be able to get 8.7GB on disc when using a Sony Optiarc 5280S-CB-PLUS DVD writer drive.
