To kick things off and to coincide with release of the heavy "unfinished business" ep on jus'house, we bring you aphrodisiax...... Aphrodisiax are a dj / production collective hailing from west london, uk. With a style fused between deep, soulful, tech, broken beat house music. Consisting of members - sy sez, gavin peters and south london artist arise. After making some noise on the soulful house scene with their remixes of the flowriders "russellology" on nysoul, as well as a release with dj romain on ny label nu faze recordings, not to mention forthcoming releases on flagship house label, soul heaven, aphrodisiax finally release their debut ep on jus'house in april. The release features the eagerly awaited track "unfinished business", already recieving support from such heavy hitters as phil asher, benji b, afronaut, karizma & mike dunn, to name a few !!! The ep also features the spoken word talents of tim'm west on "my getaway", as well as the tracks "keep it movin" & "right beside you", completing the ep and making this an essential release. Joining aphrodisiax on the night will be north londons altered natives and souled of fresh minute music... Altered natives is one of broken beats humblest,unfathomable yet unsung producers.he has watched the scene evolve since his involvement in 99,with the many projects at people records who ran the now legendary goya distribution, the home or birthplace of the broken beat scene. Altered natives found an odd affinity to the then christened "broken beat". He saw an ambitious quality in which he could create his own sound and identity, inspired by broken, house, dub and drum n bass. During this time people records released his debut track entitled "my days of being wild" from the 2002 compilation "people make the world go round". It was also around this time that he met up with the south london crew known as broadcite. After broadcite recordings was set up, he became one of the key members in the production team making dance-floor destroyers like "of the forth kind", "drop" and "pride". After leaving broadcite, in 2008 he hooked up with more about music management and set up his eye4eye label releasing 2 heavily supported releases, the "goya owes me money" ep and the "1000 days of patience" album. This brings us right upto date, with his new releases featuring the deep bruked out "bare blade knuckle slap" and the massive housey crossover "rass out". The latter already heavily supported by the likes of karizma, ian friday, benji b, kev beadle, phil ahser and many more.... Expect house music with altered natives individual and original touch.... Also joining the party will be the souled outfit. Behind this dj/ production outfit are ben tidy and adam cook who have been hard at it, making music since they first met at 15 years of age. At the time one was buying and playing house and garage the other was a hip hop and drum n bass head. With both their influences rubbing off on one another it was only a matter of time and realisation that their sounds would meet in the middle and thus souled was born!! Representing the next generation of soul heads, the obsessive crate digging forward thinkers and ******* sons of a thousand beats would play anything from disco to house, detroit techno to broken afro beat through soul, as the souled boys put it "if the shoe fits" they'll put it on a turntable and play it". Last but not least we have warm up duties from jus'houses' david hardy a familiar dj/ face at many of sheffields soulful/ deep/ house parties, easing you into the evenings shenanigans with some choice cuts.
