kaytie   11 #817 Posted August 5, 2018 Maybe he’s trying to bring attention to sheffield?  Unfortunately it's not positive attention, but making the city appear a laughing stock.
 Share this content via...
prince al   155 #818 Posted August 5, 2018 I see this fool was on the telly again last night , doing some rapping . All part of his plan to be a reality star no doubt  How refreshing!
 Share this content via...
Cyclone   10 #819 Posted August 5, 2018 Unfortunately it's not positive attention, but making the city appear a laughing stock.  I disagree, his reception generally seems to have been pretty good. About 50% of the country were impressed by him 'banning' Donald Trump from the city.
 Share this content via...
Daven   10 #820 Posted August 5, 2018 Unfortunately it's not positive attention, but making the city appear a laughing stock.  That's your opinion but I disagree. As I've posted before - he's like a breath of fresh air into the rather stuffy world of the Lord Mayors role. 21st century dude. Good luck to him ! Narden Dee   10 #821 Posted August 5, 2018 (edited) Maybe he’s trying to bring attention to sheffield?  sometimes its for the wrong sort of things and as a lord mayor he should be promoting the city and the good things rather than his agenda/political beliefs/ladder to being a reality star.  You are aware it is possible to dislike a person for being a buffoon regardless of their sex/colour/ethnicity/religion? hauxwell   235 #823 Posted August 5, 2018 The new mayor wants all the media attention he can get, good or bad. when he’s finished doing his stunt as mayor he’s got some sort of hidden agenda. I’m wondering if he wants to go on Britain’s Got Talent, wearing his sombrero with one the magicians or musicians he wants to use to entertain at council meetings.  ---------- Post added 05-08-2018 at 17:50 ----------  Maybe he’s trying to bring attention to sheffield?  If he is, it’s definitely worked here in Newcastle. Daven   10 #826 Posted August 6, 2018 (edited) Which is what every Lord Mayor has done since Jack was a lad. It's all part of the reason why someone wants to do the role - self promotion - although the past LM's would deny that, of course. The only difference is that the current LM has been out with the community and not been hidden away in dusty corridors. He's 29 years old for goodness sake ! Good luck to him - the role has finally been dragged into the 21st century. He has certainly brought Sheffield into the news and not in a bad way imo. He will be a very hard act to follow. The lord mayor roles now not confined to old blokes in suits in dusty corridors. its the modern world.
 Share this content via...
Hidrisc   10 #828 Posted August 6, 2018 There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about and that is not being talked about about...Oscar Wilde. Not much talk ever about previous mayors.
 Share this content via...
