TYPO3 (installation on a Mac)

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help me with installing TYPO3 on a Mac or point me in the direction of an easy to follow tutorial? It all seems so daunting. Thank you in advance.

TYPO3 is a web CMS, designed to be installed on a web server/host and used online...

You would need a web server setting up with php and MySQL support to be able to use it...

It's not some stand alone programme / app you can just run and use....

Probably MAMP first then?

I've used that before with some success on a Mac, and it's more beginner friendly than installing PHP and MySQL individually (Apache web server is already part of OS X).

For reference, MAMP: https://www.mamp.info/en/

Also, if you're just wanting to try out the CMS, or work on themes for it (if it's anything like Wordpress?), running MAMP on your Mac isn't a bad option; if you're expecting other people to view it, probably better to host on a proper server somewhere.
