chinaski   10 #11 Posted December 28, 2009 Any nice family hotels in Whitby to stay for new year?  I'm not sure there are any. Your best bet is to rent a holiday cottage there. We came back a couple of weeks ago. We tend to stay at Keldy, about 40 minutes from Whitby. Here:  http://www.forestholidays.co.uk/cabins/our_locations/keldy.aspx  Worth bookmarking for future reference as they're quite cheap out of season.  Best thing about Whitby in the snow is you can get into the Magpie Cafe without queuing.  We stayed in a B & B a couple of years ago for New Years and to be honest, I wouldn't recommend it.
