i think some of the ones that are uprooted/bent are as a result of morons who do it just for something to do......

They are now made of lighter material, and so much easier to damage.

Two near us were replaced, not too long ago, and were fixed to the posts with what were not much better than glorified jubilee clips.

I contacted those responsible and advised them to either change the fixings or, at least, strip the threads. If not, it was obvious to us that they would be unscrewed and possibly stolen.

After a typical "we know what we are doing" response, one was actually stolen and the other left half hanging.

At least the second replacements had better fixings and are still in place.

In Hillsborough someone always adds a "t" to the Far Lane sign so it reads Fart Lane. :hihi:

That's funny.

In Stavely someone always adds NY to the end of Fan Road (not the road bit obviously). Still makes me laugh

A combination of Amey and the incompetent council.

I remember a couple of years back the new sign on Dykes Hall Road was spelt "Dkyes Hall" for a brief period.

Theres a road here in Stocksbridge spelt two ways on different road signs, it always amuses me.

Isn't there a police station on a road in Sheffield called Letsby Avenue?
